Who We Are

Our story begins when God took a born and raised “California Girl” with a Psychology degree working at Westmont College, and a pastor’s son from Tijuana with a passion for music and long distance running, and dropped them in the middle of a rustic camp setting in the mountains outside of Ensenada.  There we worked as part of the Rancho Agua Viva team for seven years developing the facilities and the ministry and in the process discovered a calling that brought our lives, our gifts and our dreams together.

After getting married in September of 1993, we rented a house in the city and began to meet with people and cultivate relationships in what we had come to discover was a neglected sector of our community from a spiritual standpoint—those in leadership.  Through our experience in Agua Viva we knew people in government, education, business, medicine, law, etc.; people of influence, power and resources, but with a spiritual poverty that was not being addressed by the local church or by existing ministries.

First independently, later under NCF, and now since January 2015 with YUGO Ministries, we have intentionally and diligently devoted our lives to building relationships with people in all areas of leadership with the purpose of introducing them to Jesus.  From the outset we have been motivated by our conviction that coming to know Jesus and choosing to follow Him produces perceivable changes in a person’s life; and that those changes lead to the transformation of marriages, families, values, priorities, businesses, governments and entire communities.

Through these years God has directed in the development of different means through which the leaders of our city can be reached for Jesus.

  • Activities such as counseling, a monthly Leadership Breakfast and being involved in the local community serve to open channels for friendships and relationships where we can introduce people to Jesus.
  • Study groups, discipleship, a Home Church, and the Reflejo Community offer opportunities to involve those who choose to follow Jesus, along with their families and friends, in an atmosphere where they can learn, grow and fellowship alongside others.
  • Involvement in service projects and community outreach, specifically to the poor, marginalized and underserved in our city, are channels through which they can then invest their lives to touch others and follow the command of Jesus to love our neighbor.

We praise God for His faithfulness to us and for allowing us the privilege to serve Him as we love and serve others.
